Initially a community site, webe is now a telco company that is planning to offer 4G LTE plans from as low as RM8 per month!

webe was a community site for people to connect with others to make the things they care about happen. The platform empowers individuals, groups and members of the local community to help bring their ideas and good things to life.”

The folks at Lowyat.net came across a cached site for webe that not only reveals its plan to become a 4G LTE operator, but also affordable telco plans. The site is currently unavailable for viewing.

For existing P1 customers, the telco company is offering 20GB of data, 1,000 minutes of calls and 1,000 SMSes from only RM8 per month

This plan is only applicable for existing P1 customers who picks up a device alongside the plan.

As for non-P1 customers, they would need to fork out RM10 per month for the plan. An additional RM10 is also needed to enable tethering for their plans.

For existing P1 customers that choose not to purchase a device, they would only have to pay RM9 per month for the plan.

But that's not all! webe is also introducing an unlimited plan for only RM80 per month. Yes, that would mean unlimited calls, data and SMSes!

Users will apparently able to enjoy a flat roaming charge and share their line with up to three people as well - this means up to three lines can share on one unlimited quota.

As enticing as the figures above might look like, it is important to take it with a grain of salt. The numbers could only be placeholders and do not reflect the finalised pricing.

Regardless, exciting times ahead for the Malaysian telco market! Stay tuned for an official announcement by P1 on 13 April 2016.
