Spotify is currently testing a feature called 'Storylines', which many are comparing to Instagram Stories

TechCrunch reported that the new feature would give artistes and their management teams more control over what background information is displayed as their song plays.

Storylines is meant to work alongside Genius' "Behind the Lyrics" feature

"Behind the Lyrics" depends on user-contributed content, which may not be entirely accurate.

Storylines aims to fix this by giving artistes a platform to provide their own insights into their songs.

Currently, the feature can be spotted on a small number of artistes

Android Police reported that the feature can be spotted on Jonas Brothers' 'Sucker' and several songs by Billie Eilish, including 'bad guy' and 'bury a friend'.

The feature is being tested on both iOS and Android apps, but it is not confirmed if all users will be able to see it.
