The all-new Proton S70 has been officially revealed

The national carmaker displayed its upcoming model, the Proton S70, at a line-off ceremony presided over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry, (MITI), Dato' Hairil Yahri Yaacob.

The Proton S70, assembled at the Tanjong Malim facility, marks the company's initial introduction of a completely new sedan to its lineup since the Proton Persona was introduced in August 2016.

During the ceremony, Proton also revealed the S70's tagline: "Intelligence that Evolves"

The tagline was introduced to the public by Proton's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Li Chunrong.

He also mentioned that Proton outlets nationwide have begun accepting customer bookings since 1 November with a nominal fee of RM500.

The Proton S70 is packed with modern features

"The Proton S70 marks a new chapter for Proton as we return to the family sedan market with a model that is the next step in the evolution of our offerings," shared Dr Li Chunrong, as part of his opening speech.

"Endowed with intelligent safety technology, connectivity, and a 1.5L turbocharged engine with dual-clutch transmission, we have high hopes it will prove to be popular with current and new Proton fans, and help return us to the top of a market segment that was previously led by models such as the Proton Wira, Waja, and Preve."

Continuing the pattern set by the Proton X70, Proton X50, and the mild-hybrid Proton X90, the Proton S70 is the fourth completely new Proton vehicle that has been developed in collaboration with Geely

It's the second entirely new model scheduled to be introduced in 2023.

If you're interested in checking out the S70, there will be customer preview events held in various major state capitals in Malaysia, starting on 11 November. These previews aim to provide the public with an opportunity to get a firsthand look at the model.
