Porsche Malaysia Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary With New 911 Models
Porsche pulls back the curtain on two thrilling additions to its legendary 911 lineup.
Porsche Malaysia celebrates its 15th year in the country with a special event at Central Exchange, The Exchange TRX
To celebrate the milestone, Porsche Malaysia is showcasing the latest generation of the iconic 911, along with other Porsche models, from 11 to 13 April.
The event also highlights Porsche's strong racing heritage, giving visitors a chance to witness the Sime Motors Racing Team's 911 GT3 Cup Car, which is currently competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.
The two updated Porsche 911 models are the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carerra 4 GTS
Priced from RM1.43 million, the 911 Carrera features a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged boxer engine delivering 394PS and 450Nm of torque. Enhancements include an intercooler from the Turbo models and turbochargers previously exclusive to GTS variants, enabling the Carrera Coupé to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds, or 3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono package, reaching a top speed of 294km/h.
The 911 Carrera 4 GTS, priced from RM1.89 million, introduces a T-Hybrid system combining a 3.6-litre boxer engine with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger and a permanent magnet synchronous motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup delivers a combined output of 541PS and 610Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100kmh in three seconds and a top speed of 312kmh. Despite the added hybrid components, the vehicle's weight increases by only 50kg compared to its predecessor.
Both models feature updated designs with integrated matrix LED headlights, a redesigned rear light bar, and enhanced aerodynamics. Inside, they offer a fully digital 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch central touchscreen, and improved connectivity options, including deeper Apple CarPlay integration and native apps like Spotify and Apple Music.
Porsche Malaysia also underscored its commitment to supercharging the growth of the brand's presence in the country
Porsche opened its first non-European assembly plant in Malaysia in March 2022, producing the Cayenne. In July 2024, they added the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, which was the first Porsche exported from Malaysia to Thailand and the model that introduced hybrid tech to local workers. Launched in Malaysia in January 2025, it's priced from RM728,000.
Porsche Malaysia is taking the lead in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by building a charging network with Shell, facilitating long-distance EV travel across Southeast Asia.
It also promotes motorsports through events and driving experiences at the Sepang International Circuit. To support local talent, Porsche Malaysia is sponsoring the Sime Motors Racing team in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and has launched an Esports racing challenge.
