It's June! The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is now zero-rated as promised by the Pakatan Harapan government.
With GST set to zero comes a tax holiday for Malaysians to splurge on goods and items they have been thinking about – before the Sales and Services Tax (SST) is implemented in September.
Apart from savings on cars, movie tickets, and pharmaceutical goods, the zero-rated GST move also impacts electronic goods such as smartphones
By taking away the 6% previously imposed on smartphone prices, you can easily save a few hundred ringgit and walk home with a spanking new handset.
