The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) has announced that Malaysians will be able to register for MyDigital ID in March 2024

MIMOS Berhad clarified that the MyDigital ID system holds international recognition, boasting an EAL3+ certification for robust security and compliance with global IT security standards. It also employs cryptography-based security measures to ensure the safety of personal data.

The primary objective of MyDigital ID is to verify and authenticate individuals online, catering to both public and private applications

Its primary function is to confirm identities during online transactions and allow Malaysians to easily access government websites. However, it's important to note that it won't completely replace the existing MyKad system.

MOSTI aims to streamline access to various digital services while enhancing the security of online transactions

By integrating the online verification process, individuals can utilise various services with multiple logins on a single device. This will ensure that users can easily engage in digital interactions with government agencies.

Registration for MyDigital ID is now open to all government employees

MIMOS will provide further information on their official website official website once it becomes generally available.
