Government Launches New Programme 'AI Untuk Rakyat' To Boost AI Literacy Among M'sians

The modules are now available in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin, and Tamil.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has officially launches the 'AI Untuk Rakyat' programme on 16 January 2024

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli highlighted that the 'AI Untuk Rakyat' programme encourages people to enhance their basic understanding of AI technology.

He said this knowledge would lead to many opportunities for the country's digital economy, adding that. Malaysians could create a digital economy for the future and help Malaysia excel globally.

"Together, we can collectively build a technologically savvy society to achieve the aspiration of becoming a digitally-driven economy by 2030," said Rafizi during the launch.

This programme aims to provide all students with a basic understanding of the AI world

This basic learning is aimed at boosting students' interest in AI technology and possibly lead to careers in the AI sector in the future.

It's a free programme and available in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin, and Tamil

The programme, open to all Malaysians, consists of two modules.:

1. AI Aware and AI Appreciate.
2. A self-paced learning process allows participants to finish in about four hours.

If you're interested in the programme, you can register as a participant via the AI Untuk Rakyat portal.

The government is planning to involve one million participants in the programme over the next three years

It will be promoted through social media, collaborations with government departments, and partnerships with organisations like Rakan Muda, Pusat Ekonomi Digital Keluarga Malaysia , the National Science Centre, and private sector players.
