On 10 January, the tech giant revealed that the affected employes were from various teams, including engineering, Google Assistant, AR, and DSPA.
The company said it was investing in its biggest priorities and making organisational changes to become more efficient.
Google said it is supporting the impacted employees as they look for new roles
This is not the first time Google had massive layoffs in January. Last year, it cut 12,000 jobs and offered generous severance packages to affected employees.
