Purchased the iPhone X on release day last week? You better not drop it because screen repairs won’t be cheap.

According to Machines, a replacement screen for Apple's 10th anniversary phone could cost you RM1,799

That’s RM1,000 more than how much it costs to replace the screen on the iPhone 8 and RM900 more than the iPhone 8 Plus!

But there's hope for iPhone X owners with butterfingers as the local Apple Premium Reseller recently launched an updated Machines Protection Plan (MPP) which now also covers the device

Priced at RM899, the updated plan is available exclusively to customers who purchased their iPhone X at Machines outlets and supported by AON Malaysia as its insurance broker.

With the plan, customers will receive 1-year extended warranty on top of the 1-year standard Apple Warranty. MPP also extends coverage to accidental or liquid damage throughout the two year coverage period.

Customers can get either one iPhone screen replacement or one full device replacement during the coverage period

While MPP covers all the labour cost associated with screen replacement, customers will have to pay an additional service fee for full device replacements and battery replacements.

For example, for an iPhone X full device replacement, customers will need to pay a service fee of RM499 on top of the iPhone X MPP cost of RM899 - that adds up to RM1,398.

Visit Machines' official website for more details on the plan.
