Did You Receive Messages Saying MySJ Credited Your TNG eWallet With RM800? It's A Scam
The elaborate phishing scam asks the receiver to click on the link included in the SMS to claim the amount.

Recently, some Malaysians reported receiving SMSes informing them that their Touch 'n Go (TNG) eWallet was credited with RM800
The messages — supposedly from the government's official COVID-19 contact tracing app MySejahtera — showed that the sender is "GOV" and intends to provide "special financial assistance for COVID-19".
The sender asks the person to check and claim the amount by clicking on the link.
Unfortunately, it's an elaborate phishing scam
Unsuspecting mobile users who click on the link may end up parting ways with their sensitive information to scammers because the SMSes appear to have been sent using an official government channel.
The link directs users to a fake TNG eWallet page, where they are asked to enter their mobile number, their six-digit pin, and the 6-digit OTP that was sent to their mobile number.
Entering these details may give scammers access to your eWallet.
Fortunately, MySejahtera quickly informed users that it's a scam
"MySejahtera never offers any financial assistance or payment to users. This SMS is fake," MySejahtera's official Twitter handle responded to one user, adding that those who received them are urged to ignore them and that will also be reported to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Similarly, TNG also alerted users about the scam and advised them to ignore such messages.
"Please be informed that this SMS is a scam and we are in the process of reporting it to MCMC."
Separately, the Cyber Crime Alert of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) also issued an alert on Facebook about the elaborate phishing scam
The Cyber Crime Alert Page urged the public to beware of such SMSes claiming that MySejahtera has credited special financial assistance for COVID-19 into their TNG eWallet.
