Cyberjaya Wants To Make Food Deliveries Faster By Using Drones To Do The Work
Average Drone Sdn Bhd will be partnering with Futurise, managed by Cyberview, to run the three-month trial.

Cyberjaya residents may soon have their food delivery waiting time cut, thanks to the help of drones
Average Drone Sdn Bhd, a local company involved in the drone industry since 2014, is partnering with Futurise - which is managed by the Finance Ministry's subsidiary Cyberview - to run a three-month trial of the service.
The trial will begin at the end of June.
Drones are expected to deliver food within 12 minutes from when the order is placed
However, only residents who live within two kilometres of the Futurise building on Persiaran Apec, Cyber 8 will be able to make an order, reported New Straits Times.
The delivery fee will only be RM2.50.
"[It is] not so much about the price, it is all also about the time frame since many want quick delivery," said Average Drone chief executive officer Hamdee Hamdan.
"We have developed the drone so that it could be flown during the rain, but not in situations when there are heavy rains."
At the moment, only seven types of food will be on the drone food delivery menu
Bernama reported that the options include noodles, rice, burgers, sandwiches, kuih, and fruits.
"This is only a test run, and after three months we will see how it goes and add on more dishes on the menu," explained Hamdee.
He also shared that a mobile application is being developed, which customers will be able to use to put in their food orders.
