Connecting to hotel Wi-Fi often feels like a test of patience

You land in a new city, open your laptop or phone, and instead of instant Internet access, you're greeted by a clunky web form.

Enter your name, email, maybe your room number, then repeat the process for every device you own. It's even worse if you're travelling with family — suddenly, you're the tech support for 10 devices.

Apple may have a fix coming, and it sounds promising.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, iOS 19 will introduce a feature that automatically syncs public Wi-Fi network logins across all your Apple devices

You'll still need to fill out the form once, but only once. After that, everything — your iPhone, iPad, MacBook — will connect automatically.

The technical details are still unclear, Bloomberg reported.

It's not yet known whether hotels and cafés will need to update their own systems to support this, or if Apple has figured out a workaround on its end. But if it works as described, it could be a huge quality-of-life upgrade, especially for frequent travellers.

Apple has a track record of smoothing out digital friction — AirDrop, iCloud Keychain, and iMessage syncs are all examples

Extending that philosophy to Wi-Fi access makes sense.

iOS 19 is expected to be announced this June, with a full release in September.

Alongside the Wi-Fi update, other rumoured features include a revamped interface, improvements to Siri under the Apple Intelligence umbrella, and updates to the Health app.
