Wong Weng Son Bags Gold At 2023 World Wushu Championships
The Malaysian contingent currently has a total of one gold, five silver, and four bronze medals in the competition.

National wushu athlete Wong Weng Son won a gold medal in the men's changquan event at the 2023 World Wushu Championships in Fort Worth, Texas
According to Bernama, the 31-year-old from Seremban collected 9.826 points to top the field of 78 competitors, including Indonesia's Seraf Naro Siregar, who took the silver medal with 9.803 points yesterday, 19 November.
This is his second career gold medal at the world meet, having first won the men's jianshu event in Kazan, Russia in 2017.
Another Malaysian, Clement Ting Su Wei, also took to the podium in the same event, winning the bronze medal with 9.800 points.

With 9.800 points, he lost only to China's Zhang Qingchun, who received 9.833 points.
The Malaysian contingent is currently fifth in the medal standings with a total of 10 medals — one gold, five silver, and four bronze — with one day of the competition remaining
According to the Wushu Federation of Malaysia, the national team also won the following medals:

– Sydney Chin Sy Xuan - women's taijijian silver
– Low Ying Ying - women's changquan silver
– Low Ying Ying - women's daoshu silver
– Clement Ting Su Wei - men's gunshu bronze

– Tan Cheng Min - women's nangun bronze
