According to BWF, Zulfadli Zulkiffli and Tan Chun Seang have been suspended from all badminton activities for 15 and 20 years respectively after an independent panel found that they breached the BWF Code of Conduct in Relation to Betting, Wagering, and Irregular Match Results.

Although BWF's statement was only released yesterday, the BWF Ethics Hearing Panel that heard the case in February had released its report earlier and came to the decision on 27 April.

The 65-page report contained detailed chronology of the investigations of the case over the span of the last two years when an investigation was initiated after they were informed of the matter by a whistleblower in 2016. The report also included witness statements and evidence provided as part of the charge notices, among others.

One section of the report highlights the evidence that was provided, including WhatsApp text exchanges between Zulfadli and Tan on numerous occasions between 27 September 2013 and 12 December 2014

It was learned that the duo had engaged in match-fixing and committed corruption offences at six different tournaments between 2013 and 2016.

According to the report, the BWF managed to extract data from Zulfadli's mobile telephone, and created a translated transcript into four separate documents labelled "Conversation #1", "Conversation #2", "Conversation #3", and "Conversation #4".

"The messages were largely in Malay. After identifying selected messages, the BWF contracted a company to translate those messages from Malay to English for the purposes of the investigation," read the report.

Here's part of the transcript of the conversations between Zulfadli and Tan during the same period as certain badminton tournaments, as stated in the report:
