This Malaysian Businessman Is Now The Owner Of An Italian Football Club

Datuk Dr Noordin Ahmad, a Malaysian businessman is now the owner of FC Bari, a Serie B Italian football club
It was reported that the Malaysian entrepreneur acquired a 50 percent stake in the Italian club for a price of Euro 12 million (RM53.159 million). Nicknamed the iGalletti (The Cockerels) or iBiancorossi (The White-Red) after its colours, the club was founded in 1908.
The news of the acquisition first surfaced on Italian newspapers when the club’s president and former referee, Gianluca Paparesta communicated the sale of the board members
Paparesta used to own 95 percent of stakes in the club from southern Italy. The agreement was signed on 8 April.
Days before the discussions were held, the Malaysian flag was spotted hanging from the terraces during a home game against Cesena at the San Nicola Stadium
The flag sparked rumours of an impending takeover.
Fans hope that the change of ownership will be able to boost the club's chance of moving forward to the Serie A division
Bari are currently in third place in Serie B on 57 points from 35 games, on course for the promotion playoffs for a spot in Serie A.
Little is known about Dr Noordin Ahmad, but he always had an interest in Italian football when he was spotted at the headquarters of another Italian club, SS Lazio

Fans will most likely see the new owner at the upcoming home game this coming Saturday, 16 April
FC Bari will be facing against Como at home.
