What an atmosphere at ESL One Genting 2018! 6,000 Dota fans gathered under one roof at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands to witness two exciting quarterfinal matches.

It was extremely sad to see the departure of two teams today - Vici Gaming and Virtus Pro. However, we are now only two stages away from finding out who will emerge as the champion of ESL One Genting 2018.

The final four teams of the ESL One Genting 2018 are Team Secret, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and Newbee

All four teams have already secured at least USD40,000 (RM150,000) for reaching the Top Four and equally important Qualifying Points that are collected to determine the eight direct invites to The International 2018.

The champion of the ESL One Genting 2018 will not only bring home a championship trophy, they will also win USD160,000 (RM600,000) and 200 Qualifying Points.

Newbee threw down a dominant performance to start the day and they move on to the semifinals after a convincing 2-0 over Vici Gaming

It was an all-Chinese affair for the first match of the day between Newbee and Vici Gaming. The latter certainly put up a great fight in the first game against tournament favourites, Newbee. However, Newbee blew them away in the second game to take the series.

Up next for Newbee is Team Secret in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, Evil Geniuses managed to take a 2-0 victory over Virtus Pro

Evil Geniuses drew first blood in the series in a close and exciting game. However, in the second game, Evil Geniuses dominated Virtus Pro right from the first minute forcing Virtus Pro to call GG at the 29-minute mark.

The Russian squad Virtus Pro join China’s Vici Gaming in fifth place, going home with USD20,000 (RM75,000)

Semifinals will happen tomorrow, Saturday from 3pm
