Tickets For The KL SEA Games Are Now On Sale And They Are Really Affordable

Tickets to this year's KL SEA Games have now gone on sale, with more than a month to go until the opening ceremony at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil

The ticket sales were announced yesterday, 4 July, by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and the KL2017 Malaysian Organising Committee (MASOC) in Bukit Jalil.

The upcoming 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games are branded "Kuala Lumpur 2017" (KL2017) as the events will be held in Kuala Lumpur between 19 - 31 August 2017 and 17 - 23 September 2017 respectively.

Tickets are required for entry to 19 events, including the opening and closing ceremonies

The events are aquatics (diving, swimming, synchronised swimming and water polo), badminton, gymnastics, karate, taekwondo, silat, futsal, netball, rugby, cycling (track), basketball, sepak takraw, billiard and snooker, muay, football as well as the opening and closing ceremony.

Ticket prices range from RM10 to RM20.

Other events that can be watched for free include athletics, tenpin bowling, boxing, cricket, and many others.

Khairy said that the ticket sales initiative was made due to limited capacity in certain events and for better crowd control

In a bid to curb online touts who buy tickets in bulks, individual will be limited to purchasing a maximum of four tickets, whether online or at the kiosks.

“We will also be stationing volunteers outside the Games venues to prevent the illegal selling of tickets," he said as quoted by The Malay Mail Online.

He also added that the tickets were set at affordable prices and the total number of tickets to be printed will depend on the demand

“The ticket prices are reasonable, at RM10 each for the preliminary rounds, RM15 for the middle rounds and RM20 for the finals, hence the supporters and sports fans should be prepared to purchase them,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, he also said all events in the 9th ASEAN Para Games will be free of charge.
