Young Man Shot Dead In Drive-By Shooting At Jalan Klang Lama

A man and a woman have been detained in connection with Monday night's drive-by shooting at Sri Sentosa.

Acting City CID chief Asst comm Khairi Ahrasa said the couple, in their 30s and 40s, were picked up hours after the 10pm incident, which saw a man killed after being shot at three times.

"The two who were arrested led police to one of the culprits behind the shooting.
"We hope to pick him up soon and we believe three other accomplices are involved as well," he told a press conference Tuesday.

He added that police seized a bullet casing and two slugs at the crime scene.
"We believe the pistol used was a 9mm automatic," he said.

KUALA LUMPUR: A man in his 20's was gunned down in an apparent drive-by shooting along Jalan Sri Sentosa 8A, off Jalan Klang Lama, Monday night.

Dalam kejadian di Taman Sri Sentosa, seorang pemandu van pelancong cedera akibat ditembak berdekatan sebuah kedai serbaneka 9.30 malam tadi.

Witnesses said that at around 10.20pm, the victim and a friend were walking along the road when a car approached from behind.

The witness, who declined to be named said a man in the car shot twice at the victim.

"His friend ran off and the car drove away. After a few minutes the friend came back and rushed the guy away. Maybe he took him to a hospital," he said.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Aida Abdul Hamid confirmed the incident, adding that the man was dropped off at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he later succumbed to his bullet wounds.
