The original deadline was 30 April.
The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is extending the deadline to file the various income tax return forms (BNCP) by two months to 30 June
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 17 March, the IRB said that the decision to extend the deadline from 30 April 2020 to June 2020 was made to facilitate the submission of tax returns, as government's Restricted Movement Order (RMO) comes into effect from Wednesday, 18 March.
The RMO will remain in place till 31 March to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
All IRB premises will also remain closed during the RMO period
"In line with the decision of the Government of Malaysia to implement the Movement Control Order from 18 March 2020 to 31 March 31 2020, the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRBM) would like to announce that all IRBM premises nationwide will be closed for the same period," the statement read.
