Woman With Pink Tag Caught At Bayan Lepas Market As District Goes Into CMCO

A 26-year-old woman wearing a COVID-19 quarantine pink wristband has been spotted at a public market in Bayan Lepas, Penang on Wednesday, 4 November
According to The Star, George Town police chief ACP Soffian Santong said the woman was trying to enter the Sri Aman Complex marketplace in Relau.
She was then caught by members of The People's Volunteer Corps (RELA) and the district health department during a standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance inspection in the area.
It was revealed that the woman was supposed to undergo the 14-day mandatory quarantine from 26 October to 8 November
"The subject is a Person Under Surveillance (PUS) who lives in Paya Terubong and works at a factory in Bayan Lepas," the police chief said in a statement on Wednesday.
A police report has been lodged against the woman by the district health department and she has been handed over for further action
State Health Department director Dr Asmayani Khalib said the woman would be slapped with a compound if investigations can confirm that she had violated her quarantine order.
This incident occurs just before Bayan Lepas, part of the Mukim 12 Barat Daya district, has to undergo the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for two weeks
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the CMCO will be imposed in the area in Penang from 6 November to 19 November as cases there have been on the rise.
