Woman Who Saved Man's Life At Kuching Airport Has Been Found And She Wants No Recognition
She wishes to remain anonymous.
Ten days after a man collapsed at Kuching International Airport and was saved by a stranger who performed CPR on him for half an hour, the search for the good Samaritan has finally come to an end
Dr Tang Sie Hing, the cardiologist treating the 55-year-old patient, identified as Mr Law, confirmed in a Facebook post on 10 May that the woman who helped resuscitate him has been identified.
βShe is a staff at Timberland Medical Centre," Dr Tang wrote, adding that she confirmed she was on the same AirAsia flight from Sibu to Kuching as Mr Law on 30 April.
"She saw him collapse at the domestic arrival hall and immediately jumped into action, performing CPR with the help of a male doctor and several other allied health professionals."
The group took turns performing CPR to keep Mr Law alive, working continuously for 30 minutes. During the effort, three shocks were delivered using an automated external defibrillator.
Thanks to their combined efforts, Mr Law was stabilised and rushed to Sarawak General Hospital before being transferred to Timberland Medical Centre, where Dr Tang successfully performed an emergency coronary angioplasty to treat two fully blocked arteries.
The heroic woman has chosen to remain anonymous and has declined any form of recognition or thanks from the family
"I respect her wishes," Dr Tang said in his post.
"I hope this ends the journey of looking for this awesome lady."
The cardiologist's update has since gone viral, racking up more than 4,300 likes and 700 shares on Facebook, with commenters praising the woman's selfless act and humility.
