Malaysian Woman Loses RM20,000 In A Fraud Involving Labubu Dolls
It is unclear whether she was the sole victim in this case.

A local woman in her early 20s was scammed while attempting to purchase Labubu dolls from an Instagram seller
According to China Press, the woman had previously purchased a Labubu doll from the same seller, and the transaction had been successful.
The online shop had over 3,000 followers with many positive customer reviews, leading the woman to believe that the seller was legitimate.
The Labubu doll she received was of good quality for its price and was confirmed to be genuine after her inspection, which further built her trust in the seller.
This impression soon dissolved into harsh reality when she placed a second, larger order with the same seller
When she placed her order the second time, the seller instructed her to transfer the payment online into five installments to five separate bank accounts.
As the first transaction went smoothly, the woman trusted the seller's instructions and transferred approximately RM20,000.
