Here's Why Kim Jong-Un Brought His Own Toilet To Singapore For The Summit With Trump

And it's not for hygiene purposes.

In the highly anticipated historic meet with US President Donald Trump, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Singapore on Sunday, 10 June… with his portable toilet

A transport plane containing food to ensure that he will not be poisoned, a bullet-proof limousine, and the leader's portable toilet, were the first to arrive before Kim, reported South Korean website, The Chosun Ilbo on Monday.

The question is, why is Kim so anal about where he excretes?

One might think that it's a matter of convenience, but the reason goes much deeper.

Kim travels with a toilet to keep potential spies away from, well, his sh*t.

Having access to a personal toilet will "deny determined sewer divers insights into the supreme leader's stools", reported The Chosun Ilbo.

It is not peculiar for the North Korean leader, who is said to bring a toilet everywhere he goes - including one that he has in his Mercedes

"There are multiple vehicles within the convoy so that people cannot tell which one he is in, and there is a separate car that acts as his restroom," a source in South Pyongan Province familiar with Kim's Escort Command told the DailyNK in 2015.

According to a former North Korean Guard Command, "The leader's excretions contain information about his health status so they can't be left behind."

Turns out, Kim's poop fears are not that irrational considering that former leaders have had their feces stolen before

In the 1980s, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) tried to collect Mikhail Gorbachev's stool to determine the former Soviet leader's health, according to the Ellensburg Daily Record reported in December 1987.

In 1959, the CIA managed to obtain the Cold War Soviet Union leader Nikita Khrushchev's stool during his visit to the US.

In another case, Joseph Stalin had also apparently spied on Mao Zedong, the Chinese communist who founded the People's Republic of China party, by collecting his feces in 1949 and carefully examining it in a secret laboratory, BBC News reported.

Former Soviet agent Igor Atamanenko claimed to have discovered the unusual Stalin case, while doing research in the archives of the Russian secret services

He told BBC that back then, Soviets did not have the kind of listening devices that secret services have today.

"That's why our specialists came up with the most extravagant ways of extracting information about a person."

For example, if high levels of amino acid Tryptophan are detected in someone's stool, the conclusion was that the person was calm and approachable, he shared.

"But a lack of potassium in poo was seen as a sign of a nervous disposition and someone with insomnia."

In other words, data about world leaders were collected by analysing their stool

Unbeknown to Mao, every time he went to the toilet, his waste went into secret boxes instead of into the sewage.

As a result, Stalin did not sign the agreement with Mao after secretly researching on his poop for several days.

Guess that probably explains why Kim is always well-prepared.

Aside from using his portable toilet as a precautionary measure, Kim also uses it for medical checks

According to DailyNK, the collected feces from his personal restroom is used to periodically examine Kim of any illnesses or other health issues.
