We Can't Get Enough Of This Rescue Puppy That Has A Tail Growing Out Of Its Head

It's a 10-week-old puppy that has a secondary tail growing in the middle of his head.

Narwhal's story went viral after Mac's Mission, an animal rescue centre predominantly for animals with special needs, posted photos of the puppy on their Facebook.

"This puppy was just found along with another older dog," workers at Mac's Mission, which specialises in special needs dogs who had been abused or born with defects, wrote on 9 November.

"This puppy has a tail coming out of his forehead and a foot injury of some sort. We are thankful this baby and his buddy are safe from the freezing cold. We definitely specialise in special."

According to a report in the BBC, Rochelle Steffen, who runs Mac's Mission, said the puppy's secondary tail, about a third the size of his actual tail, was not connected to anything and served no purpose other than to make him the "coolest puppy ever".

"Narwhal is in no pain and plays for hours," Rochelle was quoted as saying by the BBC.

Meanwhile, according to veterinarian Dr Brian Heuring, who inspected Narwhal, believes the puppy could have a special purpose in life, reported HuffPost.

"He could visit schools, hospitals and nursing homes, and show others that being different is MORE than OK ― it's great, in fact," Dr Brian was quoted as saying.

Mac's Mission wrote on their Facebook page that "the staff at Cape Small Animal Clinic gushed all over" Narwhal when they took him for a check-up.

According to Mac's Mission, there's only one thing they would change about Narwhal:

"We want him to grow a bit more and truly make sure the tail doesn’t become a bother or problem," Mac's Mission said, adding that it hasn't stopped Narwhal's fans from wanting to take him home.
