Video Shows Woman Allegedly Insulting Islam While Performing At A Comedy Club In TTDI
Meanwhile, Crackhouse Comedy Club, which had lodged a police report against the woman, has now been slapped with a temporary suspension order by DBKL.

"Hello and Assalamualaikum everyone" opens a video showing a woman who first introduces herself while claiming that she has memorised 15 verses of the Quran and then begins to undress on stage at the Crackhouse Comedy Club in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI)
The woman identifies herself as Siti Amira binti Abdullah and says that she is from Kuala Kangsar, Perak.
"I'm a Malay Muslim, and I have memorised 15 verses of the Quran. But one second…," she then starts to remove her headscarf and baju kurung, revealing a spaghetti top and tight mini skirt.
In the video, the audience can be heard cheering and clapping following the woman's act.
The TikTok account that first uploaded the video no longer exists, but the clip has since been posted on several viral social media pages. On one Twitter account, it has received over 10,000 retweets.
The woman was performing during the open mic, where anyone can perform.
The video caused anger from people. Following which, the Crackhouse Comedy Club issued a statement, saying that they "strongly condemn" the contents of the woman's act and have lodged a police report.
In the statement posted on its official Facebook page yesterday afternoon, 9 July, the comedy club said that the police report has been lodged at Taman Tun Dr Ismail police station.
It also said that the woman and her partner have been banned from the venue.
Meanwhile, the comedy club has since been slapped with a temporary suspension order by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), according to Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias.
Jalaluddin said the DBKL action was a clear message that the government will not tolerate any activities deemed offensive to sensitivities on religion, race, and the country's sovereignty.
"This issue has also received criticisms from nearby residents and netizens who felt that the viral video was clearly aimed at insulting and sullying the image of Islam. As the local authority of KL, DBKL will never compromise on such issues. DBKL has conducted further investigations on the licence of the premises concerned and taken immediate action to temporarily suspend its operations,” he said today, 10 July.
The issue is being investigated by Bukit Aman's Criminal Investigation Department and the FT Islamic religious department (JAWI)
JAWI director Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail, following a preliminary investigation conducted by the Jawi Enforcement Division, said that he believes the woman's act to be an act of insult to Islam.
Ajib added that JAWI will not compromise with any act aimed at insulting and tarnishing the image and sanctity of Islam in the Federal Territories, especially ahead of the Aidiladha celebration.
On the other hand, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) secretary Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said that investigation papers have been opened under Section 298A of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for misuse of network facilities and services.
Section 298A of the Penal Code covers issues such as causing disharmony, disunity or enmity, hatred or ill will or prejudicing the maintenance of harmony or unity on grounds of religion.
