Video Shows Man Leaping Across Damaged Sky Bridge In Bangkok To Reach Family During Quake
His wife said that she "did not choose the wrong person".
A South Korean man risked his life by jumping across a damaged sky bridge of a condominium in Bangkok to reach his wife and child during the Myanmar earthquake on Friday, 28 March.
The moment, caught on video, has since gone viral.
Kwon Young-jun had been exercising on the 52nd floor of the Park Origin Thonglor condominium when tremors from the 7.7-magnitude quake sent shockwaves through Bangkok.
As buildings swayed and debris fell, he rushed to find his wife and 1-year-old daughter, who were in a neighbouring block. Faced with a fractured sky bridge, he leapt across the gap to reach them.
His wife, Thai entrepreneur and online personality Bowyuri, was at home with their child on the 30th floor of an adjacent block. After realising that they had already evacuated, he walked down more than 40 floors to reunite with his family outside the visibly swaying building, according to The Straits Times.

"It's very dangerous. When I saw the clip, I was shocked like everyone else," said Bowyuri on Facebook, where she has more than 1.3 million followers.
In an interview, Kwon admitted he had never experienced such a strong earthquake before.
"At the time, I was just worried about my child," he told local media.
"I had to go and take care of my wife and child."
According to his wife, Kwon always puts his family first, no matter what he does.
"I did not choose the wrong person," she said.
