[VIDEO] Bung Moktar Says Teresa Kok's Dressing Is "Inappropriate"

Controversial lecturer Dr Ridhuan Tee Abdullah weighed in on the issue of parliamentary dress code issue when he hit out at deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said for not censuring DAP's Teresa Kok for her "improper attire" last week.

"Parliament has become like a market and it is possible that one day, someone will turn up in shorts. It is not impossible that after this, someone will come wearing shorts or without trousers at all," he said.

He said BN had been soft towards the Pakatan Rakyat opposition but this approach would not change PR's stand to oppose every policy forwarded by BN.

"If there is a need to be strict, then it must be done. Being soft will not make them respect or support us. They are stepping on your heads. Haven't you realised?" he added.

The Parliament was the highest institution in the nation, where MPs were watched by the people, so their behaviour must be exemplary.

BN's outspoken Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin today (10 April 2014) attempted to raise a standing order in Parliament to complain against the dressing of DAP's Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.

Bung stood up abruptly during the sitting and asked deputy speaker Ismail Mohamed Said to reprimand Kok for her dress, which he said was "inappropriate".

"The top is like a T-shirt, it's all red, this is not how you dress in Parliament," he added.

Bung said that if Kok is allowed to dress as such, schoolgirls who visit the Parliament will assume that they can "dress however they want".

"Do you have no other work?" she asked Bung.

To this, Kok retorted that if Bung had a problem with her red top, Bung is equally guilty for wearing a yellow tie.

Ismail ended the bizarre debate early when he told the MPs that since today was the last day of the Parliament sitting, he preferred not to take anything seriously.

"Nevermind, I allow (Kok to remain in the House)," he said.
