A Total Of 3 Sinkholes Have Appeared In KL And Were Caused By SYABAS' Burst Pipes

Repair works are underway at the the third sinkhole on Jalan Dewan Bahasa Pustaka.

After a sinkhole nearly swallowed a Perodua Myvi on Jalan Maharajalela on Sunday, 24 November, two more sinkholes have since appeared around the city

According to New Straits Times, a sinkhole surfaced on Jalan Pinang yesterday, 25 November, worsening the traffic in an area that already faces daily congestion in KL's golden triangle.

A third sinkhole was spotted on Jalan Dewan Bahasa Pustaka today, 26 November

Located around one kilometre away from the first sinkhole that nearly swallowed a Perodua Myvi on Sunday night, this sinkhole appeared in front of the main gate of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Malaysia.

All three incidents were attributed to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor's (SYABAS) burst underground pipes

The repair work on Jalan Pinang has been completed.

Sinar Harian reported that SYABAS has fully patched up the sinkhole on Jalan Pinang this morning and the lane is open to public usage.

As for the sinkhole on Jalan Dewan Bahasa Pustaka, the road is currently closed as it awaits SYABAS contractors to finish up the repair works.

Previously, the Myvi that fell into a sinkhole on Jalan Maharajalela did not sustain severe vehicular damage:
