Malaysiakini reported him as saying, "I am disappointed because the administration, which was once (known) as the best in the Commonwealth countries, for its ability to implement duties and plans successfully, is no longer respected and looked up upon."

In order to rebuild and restore Malaysia to its former glory, the 92-year-old leader has urged civil servants to give their undivided cooperation to the ruling government

"As long as I don't violate any laws, I hope all of you will give your undivided cooperation to me as the Prime Minister," he said as told by The Star Online.

He pointed out that civil servants should always place the law above all else to help ensure Malaysia is "on the road to recovery."

He also said the wrongdoings of civil servants from the previous administration will be dealt with

"We have seen many officers doing things they should not have done, either out of fear or because they were bribed to do so. This has cost the country," he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today (FMT).
