29-Year-Old Man Dies After He Slipped And Fell During Bukit Tabur Hike

The man was hiking with his friend on Wednesday, 26 February.

A French tourist recently died while hiking up Bukit Tabur in Ampang

New Straits Times reported that 29-year-old Martin Simon Nathan was hiking with his US friend, Kelly Lynn Drai, when the incident occurred at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 26 February.

Martin suffered severe head injuries after he slipped and fell to his death

According to New Straits Times, Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Azmi Yusoff said that authorities were notified of the incident at 4pm and immediately dispatched a team of 68 Fire and Rescue members and police.

After a couple of hours of searching, the victim was found unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene at 6.45pm.

However, the rescue team found it difficult to transport the body to the ambulance due to limited light and the steep terrain

At 10.35pm, they finally managed to bring the body down and sent it to Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem.

Initial investigations have shown that there were no criminal elements found in the case.
