Located on the island of Kyushu, Japan, is a prefecture called Miyazaki Prefecture. There, on a 3.3-square metre dairy farm in Shintomi town, lives an elderly couple, married for 60 years.
However, that dairy farm no longer exists there. Instead, it has been transformed into one of the most romantic flower gardens in the world by a man named Toshiyuki Kuroki for his wife Yasuko Kuroki.
Mr and Mrs Kuroki married in 1956.
They had two children and settled into a happy life as dairy farmers in Shintomi Town, Japan. It was tough work but, as they grew older, they started to plan their retirement – they were going to travel around Japan together.
But, after 30 years of marriage when Mrs Kuroki was 52-years-old, she lost her eyesight over the space of a week, due to complications with her diabetes.
Within a week, she had gone blind, suffering from complications relating to her diabetes. To the pair of dairy farmers, who had woken early every morning to look after their herd of 60 cows, her loss of sight was devastating.
Mr and Mrs Kuroki were heartbroken that all their plans now seemed impossible. Mrs Kuroki shut herself away from the world and Mr Kuroki was forced to watch on, helpless, as his wife sunk into a deep depression.
According to RocketNews 24, Toshiyuki Kuroki wanted to give his blind wife something she could enjoy, and he found the answer after he saw people admiring their pink shibazakura flower
One day, Mr Kuroki glanced upon a pink shibazakura flower in the garden and it occurred to him that the beauty of flowers can be experienced not only through sight but through the sense of smell as well. If he were to create a garden filled with flowers, he thought, his wife could still enjoy their beauty, and people might also come to visit, which would bring a smile to her face again.

Now, the garden in Shintomi Town is open to the public and attracts more than 7,000 visitors every year, reported the Daily Mail
