Christmas Eve celebrations turned ugly at the famous Teluk Chempedak beach here on Tuesday night when a group of revellers attacked a police patrol car with stones and mineral bottles, and sprayed soapy foam.

The incident unfolded about midnight when the trio, aged between 16 and 23, along with several others began disturbing motorists passing through the stretch near the beach here by spraying soapy foam.

Kuantan deputy police chief Supt Abdul Aziz Ahmad said police who were informed of the incident at 12.04am rushed to the scene and found a crowd of party revellers celebrating Christmas, with some of them hurling empty cans and bottles at a police patrol car there.
