This Man Offers Funeral Transportation Service To The Poor And Needy For Only RM1

With numerous social causes under his belt, Kuan Chee Heng is widely known as a social activist who helps the poor and needy in Malaysia – regardless of race and religion. Recently, he started a service to help transport the deceased for RM1.
Already known for initiatives such as 'Ambulance 10 Sen', 'Pasar 10 Sen', 'Teksi 10 Sen', and 'RM1 House', Kuan Chee Heng has introduced yet another service which will benefit the poor.
He announced the 'Perkhidmatan Van Jenazah RM1' on his Facebook page yesterday. At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 50,000 shares and over 6,800 comments, mostly praising and thanking his kindness.
The idea came to him when he realised that his existing services, '10 Sen Ambulance' and 'Teksi 10 Sen' could not transport the deceased
He said, "One day, I received a call from someone who lost his father. Initially, he faced difficulties in retrieving the body from the hospital due to the outstanding bill. Eventually, the hospital caved in and told the family to pay whatever they can but there's one problem, the body had to be transported from Kuala Lumpur to Johor.
"Ever since that day, I knew I had to start a service to help such people."
According to Kuan, the van was a contribution from Dato Seri Ahmad Zahidi Hamidi while fuel for the transport has been fully sponsored by Petron
He added, "The remaining costs such as accommodation and food are paid by the donations from members of the public."
Anyone who uses the service is also welcomed to contribute more on top of the RM1 charge.
