This Malaysian Will Give Up His IC If Zakir Naik Gets Deported

Malay Mail reported that Zamri was speaking at the PAS Youth 60th annual congress in Bukit Gambang, Kuantan yesterday, 19 June. 

"If the government extradites Zakir, I will not hesitate to surrender my IC," he was quoted as saying by The Malaysian Insight. 

"I am not prepared to live in Malaysia if our religion is being sold," Zamri said, according to The Malaysian Insight. 

Malay Mail reported him as adding that Islam is being "bullied" both at home and abroad. 

"I feel really sad when I see a Muslim MP being bullied in Parliament, and not one fellow Muslim MP opened his mouth to help him out. It is very sad," Zamri said. 

"I urge the (PAS) delegates to emulate the Chinese when it comes to unity. We see they have DAP, MCA, but when there are issues on their language or race, they will unite despite their political differences," the preacher was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.

He added that PAS leaders should set aside their differences and unite when faced with alleged attacks against Islam.

Malay Mail reported in April that 867 police reports were lodged against the 34-year-old for insulting Hinduism during a religious lecture.

According to The Star, Perlis police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Noor Mushar Mohamad said that Zamri is under probe for multiple cases.

“He (Zamri) is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt, for criminal breach of trust and over a rape case,” Noor Mushar was quoted as saying by The Star.
