This BN Lawmaker Believes Stealing Is Not Wrong As Long As You Don't Get Caught

In the Dewan Rakyat today, 4 April, a Barisan Nasional (BN) lawmaker presented a bizarre analogy between politicians entering school premises, stealing, and riding a bike without a helmet
Tanjong Karang MP Tan Sri Noh Omar was arguing to demand equal and fair treatment for politicians from both sides entering school premises, reported Malay Mail.
Noh Omar, who is also a UMNO strongman, was raising his issue with the regulation requiring all politicians to obtain permission from the Education Department before they could be allowed to enter school premises.
"The regulation has been around for a long time. But back then (during BN's administration) no one raised the issue," he said, as reported by the portal.
According to the lawmaker, stealing's only wrong if you're caught
Stealing is not wrong, only when you are arrested it becomes wrong. Riding a motorcycle without a helmet is not wrong; only when the police arrest you, it becomes wrong.
"The same with this regulation," he said in reply to Jelutong MP RSN Rayer's claim that during BN's administration no Opposition lawmaker was allowed into schools.
In other words, the lawmaker compared a politician entering a school without prior permission from the Education Department — basically disregarding a circular — to someone stealing — literally committing a crime under Section 379 of the Penal Code — as one and the same as long as one is not caught doing them.
