These Major Roads Will Be Closed For New Year Events In KL On Monday

Use public transportation to avoid congestion.

KL International New Year Run 2018, which is being held on 1 January, will see several major roads closed in the federal capital

According to Ahmad Adnan Basri, the Chief superintendent of Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigations Department for the KL International Yew Year Run 2018, roads in KL will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4.30am to 9am.

The roads will be reopened in stages beginning 9.30am, Basri said.

The roads that will be closed on Monday for the Run are:

1. Jalan Raja Laut,
2. Jalan Mara,
3. Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman,
4. Jalan Tun Perak,
5. Jalan Bukit Bintang,
6. Jalan Tun Razak,
7. Jalan Kia Peng,
8. Jalan Perak,
9. Jalan P. Ramlee,
10. Jalan Ampang,
11. Jalan Sultan Ismail,
12. Jalan Kuching,
13. The Segambut roundabout,
14. Jalan Langgak Tunku,
15. Jalan Tun Ismail,
16. Jalan Kinabalu,
17. The Hishammuddin roundabout,
18. Jalan Lebuh Pasar and
19. Jalan Yap Ah Loy.

In addition to that, several roads will also be closed on Monday for the New Year celebrations. The names of these roads are:

1. The Bukit Aman tunnel/Dataran Merdeka,
2. Jalan Tun Perak/Jalan Pudu,
3. Jalan Sultan Ismail/Jalan Bukit Bintang,
4. Jalan Ampang/Jalan Yap Kwan Seng,
5. Jalan Raja Laut/Jalan Dang Wangi,
6. Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman/Jalan Sri Amar,
7. Jalan Damansara/heading to Mahameru,
8. Jalan Duta/Jalan Langgak Tunku,
9. Jalan Tun Razak/heading to Jalan Kuching,
10. Jalan Kuching/heading to Jalan Tun Razak,
11. Jalan Tun Ismail/heading to Jalan Kuching,
12. Jalan Maharajalela/the Chinese Assembly Hall,
13. Jalan Syed Putra/heading to Jalan Kuching,
14. Mahameru Highway/heading to Jalan Parlimen,
15. Jalan Mahameru/heading to Jalan Parlimen, and
16. Jalan Duta/heading to Jalan Parlimen.

These roads will remain closed from 5am to 9.30am and will be reopened in stages from 9.40am, reported NST Online.

Ahmad Adnan has also advised the road users not to park their vehicles on road shoulders, especially along the routes involved
