On his official Twitter account, Lim wrote that, "A commoner, through me, wishes to offer a reward of RM10,000 to anyone who has verified information concerning the hideout of the Sungai Besar Umno division leader who is being hunted down by police."

Lim explained that all information received from the public would be channelled to the police, who will then establish whether there are any helpful leads, Malay Mail reported.

According to Lim, a businessman acquaintance of his made the bounty offer during a dinner event yesterday, 3 June

Lim told Malay Mail that, "I called him back in the morning to check if he was serious about his offer, which he was indeed."

"He feels strongly about Jamal running away from under the nose of the police, and wants him to be brought to book and arrested immediately," said the Kepong MP.

Lim explained that the recipient of the RM10,000 bounty would only need to lead police in the right direction, and not necessarily to Jamal's exact whereabouts

"Even if Jamal is not located after the new information, as long as the info is new and useful, we will give the informant the RM10,000," he said.

Though his current location remains unknown, the politician published an almost seven-minute long video on 30 May, which he recorded in front of a group of palm oil trees.

In the video, Jamal said that, "I am not rejecting the rule of law but I fear there are other serious actions awaiting me."
