Parents of a Year Four student have lodged a police report against their son's class teacher for allegedly biting his hand during class

According to a report in NST Online, the boy's parents noticed a bruise on his hand while they were having a meal at a restaurant in Penampang, Sabah.

He had complained of pain where the bruise is, telling his parents hat his teacher had bitten him when he was passing his answer sheet on Friday.

The alleged abuse occurred Friday morning, at about 10.25am

Penampang police has opened an investigation paper against the teacher under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury

Penampang police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim, who confirmed the police report, told NST Online that they are "investigating the claim".
