A taxi driver was arrested after he was suspected of molesting a policewoman at a food court in Ampang, Selangor, last Thursday, 23 February

According to Free Malaysia Today, the 30-year-old policewoman was buying food in AU5, Lembah Keramat, at about 10.55am when she suddenly felt a man groping her buttocks.

The police officer then confronted the man over his alleged action, but he did not confess.

"Instead, the suspect, who was having breakfast with his wife, blamed the police personnel for standing in a cramped space," said Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak, reported The Star.

The suspect is a 58-year-old Indonesian man who works as a taxi driver

Berita Harian reported that the police received a complaint at 12.45pm and deployed officers to the scene.

The suspect was arrested and remanded for three days.

The case will be investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty.

If convicted, he may face up to 10 years in jail, a fine, or whipping, or any two of the punishments.
