The 40-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife were initially detained and remanded for seven days until 17 August

Following which, the remand order against the man was extended while his wife was released on police bail.

The 40-year-old suspect's remand ends tomorrow, 22 August.

The road rage incident, which was a minor fender bender that turned into a car chase and ultimately turned fatal, took place at about 1.45pm on 10 August at the North-South Expressway (NSE)

In the incident, the 29-year-old victim had knocked his vehicle into the couple's car just after the Sungai Besi toll plaza, southbound. From there, both vehicles were then involved in a chase with one another at the Bandar Baru Bangi interchange.

Following the chase, a fight broke out between them which prompted other motorists to intervene and calm them down. They then returned to their respective cars.

However, the victim, Syed Muhammad Danial, was said to have alighted from his car, armed with a baseball bat and began swinging at the front portion of the couple's car.

The suspect, in turn, allegedly accelerated his vehicle, which then hit Syed Muhammad Danial and he was pinned in between the suspect's car and the road divider.
