Sultan Muhammad V Has Resigned As The Yang di-Pertuan Agong
The Kelantan ruler is no longer the Agong.

Sultan Muhammad V has resigned as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong
The 15th Agong's resignation was confirmed through a statement by the Comptroller of the Royal Household Wan Ahmad Dahlan Ab Aziz.
The Comptroller of the Royal Household said the Agong has resigned in line with Article 32(3) of the Federal Constitution
"The Palace would like to inform that the Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku has resigned as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong effective 6 January in accordance to Article 32(3) of the Federal Constitution.
"His Majesty has informed this matter officially to the Malay Rulers through a letter issued to the secretary of the Conference of Rulers," Wan Ahmad said in a statement today.
In the statement released, Sultan Muhammad V offered his thanks to the other Malay Rulers and also expressed his highest appreciation to the Prime Minister and the Federal government
"He also expresses his utmost appreciation to the prime minister and government for its cooperation in governing the country.
"As the highest authority of the armed forces, his majesty is also proud of their sacrifices and loyalty to him and the country.
"To Malaysians, Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku calls on them to remain as one in maintaining unity, tolerance to uphold their duty to the country so that a sovereign Malaysia will continue to be peaceful and harmonious," the Comptroller of the Royal Household said, adding that that the Sultan has prepared to return to his home state of Kelantan to be with the State government and the people of Kelantan.
For a while now, the Internet was abuzz with rumours of Sultan Muhammad V abdicating as the Agong
On Friday, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was asked about the rumours and said that he too had heard them but had not received any official indication from the Palace.
Sultan Muhammad V was on leave from his post as the Agong since November 2018. During which, photos of his alleged wedding to former Miss Moscow Oksana Voevodina went viral.
However, there was no information provided by the Palace about the alleged wedding.
Later on when Tun Dr Mahathir was asked to comment, he said "he doesn't know."
