Subang Airport Staff Dies After A Severe Accident With A Private Plane On The Runway

"Malaysia Airports with a heavy heart wish to inform that our staff who was involved in the accident at the runway of Subang Airport had passed away this evening (19 March)," read a statement provided to SAYS.

The victim, 39-year-old Mohd Ruzaimi Iskandar Ahmad Razali, passed away at 6.45pm after two days of intensive medical care.

He leaves behind his wife, Nor Azawiah Md Usuf and four kids aged from one to 13 years old.

The 3.20am accident left Mohd Ruzaimi critically injured, requiring surgery. The passengers and crew of the aircraft were unharmed in the incident.

"Some arrival flights were affected as they were held back at the airport of origin during the process of clearing the debris on the runway, resulting from the accident. Flight operations resumed to normal from 9am onwards," said Malaysia Airports, in a previous statement sent to SAYS.

"Malaysia Airports has formed an investigation team and is working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to investigate the root cause of the accident," the statement read.

"The Ministry of Transport has also activated its 'Bahagian Siasatan Kemalangan Udara' (BSKU) to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident."

Additionally, MAHB group chief executive officer Raja Azmi said, "We are extending our full support to the family members of the deceased and facilitating the funeral arrangements. Our priority is to ensure that the comfort and welfare of the family is taken care of."
