Cost of living and minimum wage are the most concerning issues across Malaysia, a recent survey has found

The survey was conducted under Suara Kita, a new feature of MyUndi, a portal that channels overall election results into an all-in-one platform.

Involving a total of 2,074 respondents across the country from various states and age groups, Suara Kita gave Malaysians an opportunity to voice their opinions and ideas regarding the next government that will be elected.

Results showed that Selangor, Johor, and Kuala Lumpur top the chart for cost of living and minimum wage concerns, which affect both the B40 and M40.

The respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 seem to be the most affected by minimum wage issues, based on the feedback collected

It noted that this is because this age group are entering the workforce and starting their work life.

The top three factors that influence respondents the most are:
1. The candidate's party
2. Manifestos and coalitions
3. Winning the people's trust.

Education, public transport, food security, and the environment are also other areas that concerned respondents and affect their choice in the 15th General Election (GE15)

Another key deciding factor for participants in the study is for candidates to focus on resolving the people's affected livelihoods in their respective constituencies.

The survey showed that 85% of respondents feel that the new government coalition should focus on alleviating the high cost of living and uplifting the economy post-election. Meanwhile, 80% of participants said they want "a fair government clean of corruption and without misuse of power."
