This Guy Was Slashed For Trying To Protect His GF From Robbers

The incident happened near the Setapak Sentral shopping mall.

A 23-year-old university student was gashed in the face when he attempted to protect his girlfriend from two men who robbed them.

The incident happened when they were walking near the Setapak Sentral shopping mall.

The incident was made known to the public after Low Ting Sheng, who is reportedly from Tunku Abdul Rahman College University, uploaded two photos of his face with slash wounds on social media.

Low said on his Facebook post that according to the medical report, the gash on his face was five inches long and two inches deep.

Low had relayed the incident to warn others about the dangers of going out at night

He explained that the incident occurred on 19 May, when he was walking with his girlfriend from a lakeside at about 10.30pm, to the Setapak Sentral shopping mall when they were stopped by two men near a restaurant there.

"The two men brandished a knife and another weapon at us, demanding for our valuables. Fearful of the repercussions, my girlfriend handed over her mobile phone," said Low.

One of the men then pushed his girlfriend into a bush. The man then attacked Low when the he tried to save his girlfriend.

The perpetrators fled the scene using a motorcycle.

Low immediately went to nearest police station to make a report about the incident

Upon his arrival at the Setapak Police Station, he was advised to go to Hospital Kuala Lumpur to seek medical attention first because his face and hand were injured.

New Straits Times reported that Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Roy Suhaimi Sarif confirmed the report and is investigating the incident.

Low's account about this incident has gained more than 3,950 shares on Facebook.

"Please be careful when you are going out at night," he reminded.
