As SPM results are out, many former students are making their way back to school to collect their result slips

It is usually a time filled with gratitude, as students take the opportunity to thank their teachers and school staff for their guidance throughout the years.

Among the heartwarming moments captured was one student giving the school's security guard a hug — an act of appreciation that has touched many hearts.

The photo was shared by SMK Agama Miri (SMKAMi) principal, Ahmad Fauzi Yaakob, who witnessed the moment firsthand

"I saw a few students walking calmly towards the gate. They shook hands and hugged the school guard. Turns out, they just wanted to say thank you," the principal shared on Facebook.

Moved by the gesture, he added, "To these students, everyone at school plays a role in their journeys — not just the teachers, but also the security guard who always ensures their safety, greets them every morning, and silently prays for them."

He praised the students' maturity, noting that they understood that their success is not theirs alone. "The guard, the cleaner, and even the canteen auntie, all share a part in their success," he wrote.

The post quickly went viral, garnering over 2,000 likes and leaving netizens deeply moved.

"His name is Wan Azizi. He went to collect his SPM results earlier and he successfully achieved A's in all of his subjects. Alhamdullillah," the man wrote.

Netizens have since praised the student and his friends for their humility and respect, and wished them continued success in the future.
