On one hand, where a prominent Saudi prince has urged for the country's driving ban for women to be lifted, twitting, "Stop the debate. It's time for women to drive"...

...at the same time, a Saudi woman is facing calls to be executed simply because she posted a picture of herself on social media in public without wearing a hijab!

According to a report in The Independent, Malak Al Shehri, who allegedly posted the photo which shows her without a hijab in capital city Riyadh, is facing calls for her execution from social media users who have reacted with outrage

Reacting to the photo, one man demanded: "Kill her and throw her corpse to the dogs".

While the original photo and tweet along with the account were deleted by the woman, an unnamed student from the city of Dammam shared the tweet.

Next to the picture, she included screenshots of three tweets by accounts calling for justice and even violence against Shehri. All three tweets included an Arabic hashtag that translates to "We demand the imprisonment of the rebel Angel Al Shehri."

According to the unnamed student, Shehri had announced she was going out to breakfast without either a hijab or abaya. But when her followers asked her to post a picture, Shehri ultimately started receiving hateful messages.

While one user demanded a "harsh punishment for the heinous situation", another user wrote "we propose blood"

However, several others have come out in support of Shehri
