Sarawak CM Is No Longer Going To Pass A Resolution Reclaiming The State's Rights

In a move that will certainly not go down well with his critics and might disillusion his supports, Sarawak CM Tan Sri Adenan Satem has decided against tabling a motion to reclaim the state's rights
This, after on 1 November he promised that the state government would table a comprehensive motion to claim Sarawak's status to what it was in 1963, as marked in the Malaysia Agreement, Malaysia Act and Inter-Governmental Committee Report.
The change in his stand comes after he spoke to PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is ready to look into whether the Malaysia Agreement and Federal Constitution has been misinterpreted
“In view of what Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had said in Sabah that the federal government was open for discussions on the Malaysia Agreement, we therefore have decided not to pass a resolution in the coming state assembly’s sitting demanding our rights back,” CM Adenan was quoted as saying by The Malay Mail online.
CM Adenan said that he trusts the prime minister to do the right thing and has "every confidence that he will do the right thing"
"In view of what he said, I am confident that he will do the right thing. Therefore, there is no need to pass a resolution in demanding our rights. I trust him (Najib)," he said.
"We believe in consultation instead of confrontation,"NST quoted him as saying.
