Sabah Govt Official Who Demanded Sexual Favours From A Woman Has Been Immediately Replaced

A 51-year-old department head in the Sabah government, who allegedly demanded sexual favours as a bribe from a woman to offer his support for her agricultural loan, has been immediately replaced
In a statement, Sabah state secretary Datuk Safar Untong said the state government viewed such matters very seriously and placed great emphasis on the integrity and conduct of the state's civil servants.
He added that the accused has been immediately replaced while awaiting further action by the authorities.
The Sabah state secretary assured that appropriate legal action will be taken immediately against the accused officer
"The Sabah Public Services Department will give its full cooperation to the Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its investigation," he said, as reported by Bernama.
"The state government is very committed to addressing such issues so as to enhance the public's confidence in the integrity of its civil servants and transparency of the department's service delivery."
No additional details about the accused's replacement was provided
He worked as the head of a department in the Keningau district.
He was arrested on Friday, 19 March at a hotel in Keningau.
The senior civil servant was detained for 24 hours to obtain his statement and was then released on MACC bail amounting to RM10,000, with a local surety.
