S'pore Customer Discovers Cigarette Butt In Her Food But Staff Insists It's Dried Chilli
The customer's mala xiang guo meal probably had an extra 'smoky' taste to it.

A customer complaint recently caught the attention of netizens when she relayed her experience of finding a cigarette butt in her mala xiang guo meal
According to the Singaporean customer, Neo Pei Yi, who aired her displeasure on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group on Tuesday, 27 December, the food fiasco happened in Chinatown, Singapore.
Despite it being Neo's favourite food stall to get the Sichuan delicacy from, she was horrified when she discovered a cigarette butt nestled among the dried chillis in her meal.
To make matters worse, she had only discovered it when she was about to finish the meal.
Obviously upset at this, the customer confronted the staff at the food stall for an explanation
Instead of an apology or a rational explanation, the staff told the disgruntled customer that the cigarette butt was actually a piece of 'dried chilli'.
Unable to believe the staff's words and unsatisfied with the situation, the customer declared that she will never visit that food stall again.
Neo also tagged food safety and security organisation Singapore Food Agency (SFA), presumably urging the government body to take action against the matter.

Neo later replied in the comments section, confirming that she did indeed get a call back from the SFA after tagging them in her Facebook post.
Other netizens said that Neo should have asked the staff to eat the supposed 'dried chilli' to confirm that it was what they claimed.
