Relatives Who Visited Puchong Man Under Home Quarantine Started A New Cluster

They had come from Perak and stayed with him.

Two new clusters emerged in Selangor, Penang, and Perak, as announced by the Ministry of Health yesterday, 7 October

As of Wednesday, 489 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 13,993. 

One of the clusters, 'Bah Puchong', involved someone who had recently returned from Sabah to Puchong, according to Malaysiakini.

The man was under home quarantine, however, relatives from Perak had visited and stayed with him. They were then infected with the virus.

"All positives are now hospitalised and all his contacts have been screened," Selangor executive councillor Ng Sze Han wrote in a Facebook post yesterday.

Areas in Perak affected by the cluster are the Kinta, Larut, Matang, and Selama districts of Perak.

Those who return from Sabah are required to go through a COVID-19 swab test as well as a 14-day quarantine at home as they wait for their test results.

According to The Star, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that those who test negative are not required to quarantine but are strongly advised to do so anyway.

Starting this Friday, 9 October, a Conditional Movement Control Order will be implemented in Klang and several areas in Sabah

The affected districts in Sabah include Tuaran, Sandakan, and Papar.

Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that "movement in and out of these districts are not allowed. Only essential services and factories involved with the chain of essential services are allowed to resume operations".
